What is StakeMate?

Today, the public site offers account sign-up and a live StakeMate Pro checkout while the core goal workflow is in development.
How does a referee work?
- In the planned StakeMate flow, you choose a trusted friend as your referee. At the deadline, they receive a simple prompt to verify whether you completed the goal. Referee verification by text link is part of the product being built and is not yet available in the account dashboard.
What happens to a stake?
- The product direction is simple: a completed goal returns the stake, while a missed goal can send it to a charity you chose or, for a future premium option, to the referee. Stake collection, refunds, and transfers are not available on the public site today.
What goals can StakeMate support?
- StakeMate is designed for measurable commitments: run a 10K, complete 12 strength sessions, follow a training plan, finish a certification, quit vaping, or ship a project. Running remains an important use case, but StakeMate is not limited to running goals.
